The times needs to do some investigative rpreoting on the Mint Hill police department. Since Tim Ledford took over there has been around a 75% turn over of employees. Since February they have lost five officers, four of which were veteran officers. This is the equivalent of one full squad. Several more veteran officers are looking to leave as well. The reputation of the department is terrible. For all intents and purposes Mint Hills SRT team is dead. They are only hiring rookie officers, one of the last that was hired wasn't even recommended by the hiring review board to be hired and was in such poor physical shape that is was questionable that he could even fulfill the job requirements. But as far as Mint Hill cares he is a warm body. The loss of veteran officers that has and is still occurring affects the safety and well being of the citizens and the community. The officers who left cared about the community and took pride in their jobs but could no longer deal with the poor treatment they received or the poor management of the department. The citizens need to wake up. Town Hall and Chief Ledford are killing your police department.
